Blaenavon Low Level

A long term wish has always been to model Blaenavon low level station. It's a good subject as I have detailed drawings of the 1900 building from the BR/OPC joint venture. It would be an interesting challenge to model as one would have to run round coaches parked on a significant gradient!

Below are the photos I took of the station and one can see that certain critical views were missed, and many are of poor quality - my only excuse is that these photos were taken in 1961/2 when I was a young teenager and a roll of film was a luxury! The green numbers on the map show roughly where they were taken.

For modelling purposes I would love to have the following views (shown by red letters on the map):

A. The main station building frontage under the canopy.

B. The post of the backing signal at the Newport end of the secondary (Up) platform. My memory is that this was concrete; or is my memory playing tricks again?

C. The home and advanced starter (?) signals at the Newport end. The track plan indicates signal posts either side of the line.

D. The engine shed - long gone by the time I knew the station. (I have only seen one photo that included the engine shed and it was in the distance and extremely indistinct.)

My grandmother remembered, as a little girl, the station building as having been "where the goods shed now is". Almost correct according to an old OS map and the plans of the "new" (1900) building. Has anyone ever seen a photo of the previous, presumably Monmouthshire Railway & Canal Company, building?
